Classification of cutting fluids:

There are two kinds of classification standards of cutting fluid, one is in accordance with the composition of cutting fluid and the corresponding performance, the other is directly divided into "oil based cutting fluid" and "water based cutting fluid". Here we will just look at the common classification of cutting fluid by composition.

1. Aqueous solution

The components of aqueous solution mainly include water, anti-rust additives and lubricating additives. The cooling effect of this aqueous solution is better, and it is often used in ordinary grinding and some finishing processes.

2. Emulsion

According to the different additives, emulsion can be divided into: ordinary emulsion (in addition to good cleaning and cooling performance, but also rust and lubrication performance), rust prevention emulsion (rust prevention performance is more), extreme pressure emulsion (in high temperature, high pressure to form adsorption film, play a good lubrication role).

3. Cutting oil

Cutting oil is divided into three types according to the type of oil: mineral oil (general lubrication), dynamic/planting oil and composite oil (boundary lubrication), extreme pressure cutting oil (good lubrication and extreme pressure lubrication).

 

Causes of foam in cutting fluid:

1. The water quality is soft, the degree of softening water and water containing alkali will increase the foam of the emulsion;

2. Fluid circulation pump seal is not strict will also increase the liquid foam;

3. The flow rate of cutting fluid is too fast, so there is no time for bubbles to overflow. The bubbles accumulate more and more, resulting in the formation of a large number of bubbles;

4. The cutting fluid tank volume is too small, resulting in the cutting fluid standing time is insufficient;

5. Unreasonable system design, especially the layout of return pipe and liquid tank;

6. Too many right angles in the tank design, or the nozzle Angle of cutting fluid is too straight;

7. Occasional foam problems are often caused by external influences, such as cutting fluid contaminated by cleaning agent, infiltration of impurities, etc.

 

Dangers of froth:

1. Metal working liquid foaming, will affect its lubrication, cooling effect.

2. Foaming will affect the normal operation of the machine. The foam will fill the tank and spill out, which will further cause the oil level to drop, damage the machine parts and affect the smooth operation.

3. Metal working liquid foaming, greatly increase gas-liquid contact, promote oxidation, produce oil slick phenomenon, make the composition of uneven mixing, resulting in product deterioration, deterioration.

4. Foaming of metal working liquid will affect the transmission power and signal of the product.

5 foaming will affect the performance of the product, resulting in anti-rust performance, cleaning performance, extreme pressure performance is unstable.

 

The solution:

First of all, in the central cooling system, the pipeline is graded in series, and the pipeline pressure near the cooling box should be lower.

Secondly, to ensure that the cutting fluid level is not too low, check the height of the liquid level in time, and add the cutting fluid in time; In addition, control the cutting fluid flow rate is not too fast, in the design of the tank, the tank right Angle can not be too much.

Finally, when using cutting fluid, attention should be paid to the cutting fluid nozzle Angle is not too straight.
